Whereabouts features the main theme of place within Ariana Sanchez’s work. Whereabouts explores the wonder and discomfort we can feel while trying to connect to a new place. This series features a personal journey of how the artist is trying to step out of her comfort zone to discover the underlying meaning of what makes a place and how she belongs in this new environment. Sanchez focuses on capturing different subjects such as people, architecture, and the life that passes her by.

 

Ariana Sanchez is a multidisciplinary artist from Forked River, NJ. She has lived in Jacksonville, FL, from 2020-2021 and has recently moved to Boston, MA. Ariana’s artistic style focuses on architecture of a place and the subjects that inhabit the area. Her work explores what is the true meaning behind a place and how a person’s personal journey affects how they are in these places. Sanchez is currently a second-year MFA candidate at Lesley University’s College of Art and Design in the Photography and Integrated Media program.
